Johnson County is served by one of the nation's leading community colleges: Johnson County Community College.
Offering nearly 100 degree and certificate programs and serving over 18,000 students, it is our county's leading higher education institution.
In 2019, JCCC opened the The Hugh L. Libby Career and Technical Education Center (CTEC) which now offers 69,000 square feet of classroom and learning areas including 14 labs. The new CTEC will provde today’s businesses with a trained workforce in a variety of skillsets, including:
- Automation Engineer Technology
- Automotive Technology
- Electrical Technology
- Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning Technology
- Plumbing Certificate
In addition the the CTEC, the College also offers a robust Continuing Education program where non-degree seeking students can earn a variety of certificates in specific industry skills and even take classes for personal enrichment. Classes within the CE department range from computer and technical skills to creative enhancement like photography and culinary arts!
